Gradually ramping up

After a few days out of town, I got back to the training yesterday. I chose a route of about 8km and just got out there walking. It was a bit chilly with the wind, but it was a sunny afternoon and the sun warmed me up a bit.

The walk felt good, so good in fact that I decided to add a bit of light jogging. Nothing fast or too demanding, just enough to see if I could maintain a few minutes of running without stopping. Mission accomplished...I was able to ramp up to running about 30% of my route.

I'll gradually add in longer stretches of jogging and maintain or extend the walking route...that way I'll get the distance in and gradually ramp up to full runs.
